Do you know Jesus?

Think about your closest friends or family. The more time you spend with them, the better you know them—you recognize their voice, their habits, even what they might do in certain situations.

It’s the same with God. When you spend time with Him, you begin to recognize His voice and His ways. You build a relationship with Him. That way, when the enemy tries to deceive you, you’ll know it’s not God—because you’ve already learned who God truly is.

So how do you get to know God?

By spending time with Him in prayer, and by reading His Word—the Bible. The more time you spend with Him, the closer you become, and the clearer His voice will be in your life.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27 (NIV)

Prayer:

Lord, I want to know You more. Help me to desire Your Word and spend time in Your presence daily. Teach me to recognize Your voice and follow You faithfully. Keep me from deception and draw me closer to You. Amen.

Declaration:

I know God’s voice. I spend time in His Word and in His presence. I will not be deceived, because I belong to Jesus, and I follow Him.
